This is one of the most showy species flowering in early spring. The awesome bright yellow flowers look like small bells hanging down in clusters. Although this species is easy to distinguish from all related kaempferi affinities by means of pubescence, the flowers share numerous overlapping features in 3D composition.

Aristolochia mollissima is quite widespread across China and tolerant of brief freezes.

As applying to all species belonging to the kaempferi group, A. mollissima will proliferate by runners/stolons above and below soil level from time to time.
