Officially the name A. amazonica is placed under the synonymy of A. pilosa nowadays, the latter of which has been described from the tropical rainforests of Central America. As the name already implies, A. amazonica is restricted to the Amazonian basin.
Not only by this geographical barrier, but also by obvious morphological characteristics of living plants I heavily doubt these two taxons represent the same species so I will list it here as a species of its own as described by Ule.
